The Performance Analysis and Improvement Manager is responsible for the development and management of, and accountability for, initiatives related to the management of complaints, appeals and grievances, as well as influencing the improvement of work processes and overall performance improvement for UCare . 

This position reports to the Quality Management Director and will work collaboratively with another Performance Analysis and Improvement Manager to analyze trends and drive the identification and promotion of performance improvement activities associated with health outcomes and the overall experience of UCare's members. 

The Performance Analysis and Improvement Manager will manage and coordinate an integrated approach to performance improvement efforts in the organization. This includes management of daily operations, performance management and development of staff, compliance with regulatory parameters including timelines, and oversight of various projects. Demonstrated successful experience managing work groups and stakeholders through and past organizational and environmental change, along with critical thinking and complex issue management would distinguish the successful candidate. The manager will also provide oversight for the creation and maintenance of policies and procedures, as well as required reports to internal committees and external regulatory agencies.   

This position requires three to five years of experience in a health related field, preferably in a health care industry setting. Significant experience leading work teams responsible for difficult consumer interactions is necessary, as well as familiarity with problem resolution, regulatory relationships, compliance reporting, health care metrics and process improvement. A clinical background (e.g. nursing) along with demonstrated leadership experience is highly desired. 

The knowledge, skills, and abilities required for this position include:

1.                   Strong qualitative process and quantitative data analysis skills.

2.                   Demonstrated project management skills.

3.                   Process improvement skills, including process mapping and use of run/control charts.

4.                   Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.

5.                   Excellent presentation skills and the ability to represent UCare to an external audience.

6.                   Ability to link quality efforts to strategic plans and department goals. and

7.                   Active listening skills.

8.                   Building and maintaining organizational and stakeholder relationships.

9.                   Proficient in Microsoft Office.
