Director of Center for Academic Resources
The University of Wisconsin Oshkosh invites applications for Director of Center for Academic Resources.
RESPONSIBILITIES: The Director manages the staff and resources for the comprehensive, multi-disciplinary academic learning support programs at the Center for Academic Resources (CAR). The Director collaborates with and provides leadership for campus learning assistance programs to enhance and expand existing services to all students; gathers data, evaluates, and potentially reconfigures existing learning assistance services; monitors and supplies information about student academic performance; collaborates with grant initiatives; works collaboratively with other campus leaders regarding retention and student success.
REQUIREMENTS (DEGREE/EXPERIENCE): Candidates should present evidence of: 1) A Master’s degree in a related field; 2) Experience successfully working with a post-secondary learning assistance program, and experience supervising professional staff and/or students; 3) Familiarity with current research, learning theory, best practices, and standards of excellence in learning assistance; 4) Experience with budgets; 5) Ability to use electronic communication, standard office software, database programs, and spreadsheets in the context of running a learning assistance program; 6) Experience working with a diverse student populations.
PREFERENCES: It is preferred that the candidate has:1) An earned Doctorate and/or education beyond the Master’s level; 2) Experience using research and applying recognized standards of excellence for program improvement; 3) Experience with academic success programming; 4) Success in securing internal and external funding sources.
