Indrotec is seeking qualified candidates to work at a leading source for metal in the Minneapolis area as a Yard/Customer Service Employee.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- read work orders and inspect metal work pieces to plan work
- select and set up torching equipment
- position and secure work piece using hoist, hand tools, or other equipment
- ignite torch or start power supply, adjust valves to regulate flow
- operate safety equipment and observe safe work habits
- Operate forklift to pick up and transport heavy bundles, skids, channels, etc.
- Determine between different metals, shapes, grades, and thicknesses
- Handwrite clear and concise customer orders on tickets to be invoiced
- Communicate clearly with customers & serve as initial point of contact for walk in customers
- Load heavy orders into trucks
- Climb ladders to check stock of materials in high racks or on roof top
- Read pick-ticketed orders and pull and prepare corresponding materials
- must be sure that all work is done and is exact- errors could endanger worker's safety
- repeat the same physical activities
- make decisions and set daily tasks and goals
- must meet strict daily and weekly deadlines
- wear safety boots, goggles, and possibly other devices to protect from burns, eye injuries, or falling objects
- sometimes exposed to hazardous situations that could result in burns
- are sometimes exposed to sound levels that may be distracting and uncomfortable
- may be exposed to hazardous equipment
- may be exposed to very hot or cold temperatures from working outdoors
Requirements:
- use hands to control objects, tools, and controls
- repeat movements numerous times
- stand for long periods of time
- bend or twist the body
- hold the arm and hand in the same position for periods of time
- hold the hands and arm steady
- see details of an object that are less than a few feet away
- make quick, precise adjustments to machine controls
- use stomach and lower back muscles to support the body for long periods of time without tiring
- use muscles to lift, push, pull, or carry material up to 75 lbs daily, and up to 100 lbs occasionally
