Position Summary

Provides Medical Nutrition Therapy through screening, assessment and education with monitoring and follow-up of recommendations both inpatient and outpatient. Patient may be seen in an individual or group setting. Professional nutrition resource for PNHS serving its patients, employees, community and providers.  May work in an area of specialty requiring advanced training or education.  Serves as content expert.  Schedule may include weekends, evenings and holidays.

Completed an accredited internship, traineeship, CUP program or other acceptable route to obtain ADA registration status.   Bachelor's degree required.  3 - 5 years experience practicing as an RD in their setting and area of position.  Specialty experience/skills in a specific area   MS/MPH degree preferred.

Demonstrates knowledge of age related growth and development principles necessary to provide appropriate service and assure safety of patients.  Strong clinical, human relations, leadership and verbal and written communication skills. Ability to effectively problem solve and make sound decisions.  Must maintain Registered Dietitian status.  Licensed Dietitian status for non-hospital environments.  Obtain and maintain certification in area of expertise (if available).  CDE, MS or CNSD or other recognized certification or advanced training in a specialty area.   Able to prioritize multiple tasks.  Successful demonstration of competencies through advanced credentialing.  

Must have a valid driver's license and meet the insurability requirements relating to Park Nicollet's motor vehicle violation criteria. 

This position provides psychotherapy to patients and requires Park Nicollet to comply with the Minnesota Statute 148A.
