Position Overview:
The TV Director is in control of the overall look of the show. The director is working in real time calling for camera shots, putting the appropriate graphics on-air, running digital effects, and working with the floor crew, hosts, and producer to make sure everyone is understanding what needs to happen next for the sells to be successful. The TV Director is the crew chief for all the crew members on their given shift. The TV Director ensures that production levels meet the objectives of upper management.

Work Schedule:
Must be able to work full-time 3rd shift.

Must possess clear communication skills and demonstrate leadership ability while working in a fast paced environment. The job requires attention to detail, clear organizational skills, problem solving skills, and the ability to be highly productive while working in a team environment.

Essential Functions:
Principal Accountabilities & Authority:
Direct/Technical direct at least 5 hours of programming a day, 5 days a week. Maximize sell time while producing informative and entertaining television. Ensure that all control room graphics, b-roll and music presentation are ready and accurate for use. Select camera shots and direct camera movements by following verbal cues of the hosts/producers. Communicate to the hosts (through IFB or Floor Director) pertinent information concerning shot selection, product information, times, etc. Maintain floor and control room professionalism 100% of the time.

Knowledge and operating skills of the Sony DVS-9000 switcher.
Knowledge and operating skills of the Crispin RapidPlay X 2000 device server.
Knowledge and operating skills of the Thunder Still Store.
Look over all video, audio and animation support before your shows and check for accuracy.
Meet with hosts, producers and sales managers before your shows to go over all support and discuss key shots needed for a successful show.
Attend all directors meetings.
Maintain a good working relationship with all outside departments including visuals, engineering, hosts, producers, sales managers, planners and management.
Must implement quick, accurate and effective changes in real time situations.
Visually interpret and vocally communicate shot selection, framing, balance and design.
Demonstrate sound management practices by motivating and developing staff in a professional manner.
Other duties as assigned.


Associate's degree (A.A.), or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Television production or related work experience.
