Buffalo Hospital, located on the western edge of the Twin Cities metro area in Buffalo, Minn., has twice been named as the Best Minnesota Hospital Workplace. Buffalo Hospital has more than 400 employees, 180 physicians, and 34 staffed beds. It is a state-of-the-art facility with expanded or new facilities for emergency, urgent care, diagnostic imaging, surgery and outpatient center, cardiac center, sleep center and rehabilitation. The care team is noted for its passion in providing personalized, patient-centered care for nearly 66,000 inpatients and outpatients each year.


Conducts admission and continued stay review, discharge planning, use of InterQual criteria for severity of illness/intensity of services for appropriate level of care (OBS, Inpatient, Outpatient), multidisciplinary collaboration, support and liaison among family, physicians, nurses, payers, and the patient.



  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing or equivalent experience
  • 5 years nursing experience with 1 year experience in a specialty area or leadership role
  • Leadership experience may include charge nurse, team leader, preceptor, task force, or committee chair
  • Previous clinical quality improvement, utilization review, discharge planning, or case management experience

  • Casual Position
  • Day/Evening Shifts
  • Day Hours (8:00am-4:30 pm)
  • Evening Hours (11:00am-7:30pm, 12:00pm-8:30pm)
  • Weekend Hours Change/Variable with Adrvance Notice and Department Changes (8:00am-4:30pm, 12:00pm-8:30pm)
  • Occasional Weekend Rotations; Up to 4 Shifts/Month
  • Non-Contract
