Will sets up and operate a wide range of machine tools and performs progressive machining operations on work involving very close tolerances or unusual requirements while working under minimal direction.
Essential Qualifications ' Related two year degree and at least two years of relevant machining experience, or without the degree, at least six years of relevant machining experience. ' Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications. ' Proficient in the use of machinist hand tools and measuring instruments. ' Experience with a wide range of machining processes, safety factors and cutting tool theory, including but not limited to, milling, turning, grinding, process planning and inspection. ' Proficient in machine shop applications of geometry, algebra and trigonometry. ' Possesses the written, verbal and interaction skills necessary to work both independently and cooperatively. Desirable Qualifications ' Through experience, possesses the skills to program machine controls, CNC machine tools and/or computer aided manufacturing applications. ' Experience in the set up and operation of CNC machine tools. ' Ability to program in Virtual Gibbs is a plus. ' Working knowledge of computers. Ability to format and produce word processing, graphs and/or spreadsheet documents. ' Demonstrated experience in the assembly of precision machined parts. ' Through experience, possesses the skills to apply statistical process control to machining. ' Through experience, possesses the skills to work in a team environment.
