Description
The Athletic Trainer provides prevention, assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation of musculoskeletal injuries. Performs assessments and evaluations of patients and guides patients through physical exams and post-op procedures. Casts, splints, and provides DME/brace fittings for appropriate injuries. Administers gait training and other therapeutic exercises to patients. Provides instruction on in-home exercise programs. The athletic trainer acts as a liaison between the patient and attending provider. Organizes provider notes and x-ray studies and presents final case reviews to attending provider. This position will be located on the UofM West Bank.
In order to qualify for this role you must possess:
- Bachelors degree in athletic training or related field. Current CPR certification. Current NATA certification.
- Current Minnesota Athletic Trainer License. Advanced knowledge of current techniques used in the prevention, treatment, or rehabilitation of injuries

Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred
- Masters degree in athletic training or related field
- 2-5 years of experience in athletic training setting
- Orthopedic experience
