Athletic Media Relations Director

The Department of Communication & Marketing for the College of Saint Benedict invites applications for a full time, (83%) benefit eligible position of CSB Athletic Media Relations Director. The CSB Athletic Media Relations Director’s primary responsibilities include: Directing the athletic news and media relations functions for the College of Saint Benedict; compile, report and maintain statistical information to meet NCAA, MIAC and CSB requirements and expectations and serve as supervisor of CSB sports information student employees. 

EDUCATION:  Bachelor's degree required, preferably in journalism, communications or English. 

EXPERIENCE:  Experience working in a public relations or journalism setting; background in sports information and electronic and print media relations; publications experience with communication design and photography; experience in brand development and marketing; as well as adhering to an institutional style guide; experience in a complex educational or corporate setting.

SKILLS & ABILITIES:  Excellent writing, editing and proofing skills required, including knowledge of AP style guidelines; ability to work nights and weekends according to the competition schedule; ability to use word processing, desktop publishing and sports statistics software as well as familiarity with, or capacity to learn web-related software; excellent organizational skills with an eye for detail; excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills along with ability to work well with employees at all levels of the organization; self-motivated and able to manage projects with minimal supervision; team-oriented.
