Patient Representative - Clinic

The patient representative will provide superior service by greeting and welcoming patients upon arrival (patients and visitors may be of all ages, neonatal to geriatric, and may have all degrees of disability, both mental and physical). Schedule patient visits. Obtain, verify, and enter insurance and demographic information from patients and enters timely and clinical information appropriately into clinic practice management system. Verify visit is in compliance with the insurance contract. Collect patient co-pays as needed. Maintain high visibility and availability at entrance/exit/waiting rooms. Provides direction and information. Notify patient care staff of patient arrival. Create a welcoming environment to all clinic guests. To ensure high quality care, and as a member of the care team, the patient representative supports quality patient- and family-centered care principles through performing a variety of high level functions within a care team to support the needs of the healthcare team and patients/families. The patient representative will continually look for opportunities to improve processes and workflow
M, W 12:45-9pm
Week 1 is Saturday 7:45am-noon
Week 2 is Friday 12:30-5
Preferred education: Vocational/Technical Training or Associate Degree, Preferred experience: One year previous healthcare and/or customer service experience, Demonstrated focus on customer service/patient service with every interaction. Excellent public relations and communication skills. Ability to work as an effective team member to provide exceptional care. Good telephone and computer skills. Must be flexible to work various shifts and locations as required. Knowledge of third party payors preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology preferred. Ability to use appropriate computer applications. Ability to work independently, demonstrate critical thinking skills and engage in ongoing process improvement.
