Job Description:
Humera, formerly Dolphin Staffing, is seeking an HR Benefits Representative to work for our client, a leading global law firm in their downtown Minneapolis office. The chosen individual will serve as an ambassador and liaison for the Practice Group Leader, representing the group both internally and to external clients. This position is a direct hire to our client.
  • Conduct health and welfare benefits enrollment and orientation for new employees
  • Review and approve welfare benefit enrollment forms, change request forms and monthly benefit plan invoices
  • Assist in the coordination of the annual enrollment process
  • Ensure that the human resources files and HRMS records are maintained in accordance with legal requirements and Firm policies and procedures
  • Notify the COBRA vendor of qualifying events
  • Answer questions regarding benefit plans, coverage, eligibility, enrollment, family status changes and terminations
  • Oversee the benefit plan forms and documents inventory
  • Administer maternity/paternity related leaves of absence
  • Work with employees to ensure appropriate documentation is received and ensure that employees on a leave of absence are paid in accordance with policy

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 2 to 4 years of experience in welfare benefit plan administration
  • Knowledge of human resource reporting and recordkeeping requirements
  • Knowledge of applicable HR Laws relating to benefits such as FMLA and COBRA
  • Proficient in a Microsoft Environment (Outlook, Word and Excel) and Human Resources Information Systems
