Cardiocom is seeking a full time hands-on Hardware Engineering Manager to bring innovative new products to market in an entrepreneurial team environment.  The ideal candidate must have experience managing a team of engineers in embedded device development.  If you are a detail oriented, hands-on technical manager looking for a great professional opportunity with an excellent company, then we want to hear from you.

Position Description:

  • Manage hardware development team including electrical, mechanical, firmware and software engineers
  • Manage multiple Hardware, Firmware, and Software development projects
  • Manage external projects, vendors, test labs, clinical/user trials, and regulatory agency approvals
  • Write and maintain project documentation including project plans, timelines, specifications, design review and other reports
  • Design and develop product architecture, electrical hardware, firmware and software
  • Manage design reviews and production handoff
  • Develop and maintain executive project reports and summaries
  • Ensure adherence to company design control procedures
  • Interface with customers and internal resources to identify product improvements and new product requirements
  • Integral part of product planning and product roadmap team
  • Research and manage regulatory requirements for products
  • Monitor, control and report on output of product development
  • Identify and manage project risks including resource utilization and deficiencies
  • Reports to the Director of Hardware Engineering


  • BS in Electrical or Biomedical engineering
  • 5+ years experience in project management
  • 10+ years experience in new product development
  • Embedded device and electrical design experience required
  • Medical device experience strongly preferred
  • Advanced computer skills including MS Project, MS Office, Solidworks, Altium
  • Excellent time management, detail, accuracy, written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be able to travel up to 25%
  • Knowledge of ISO 13485, 60601, FDA, EMC, Safety regulations and requirements preferred
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Self-directed individual who works well under minimal supervision
