Summary of Role

The Exchange Administrator will be responsible for support and implementation of the messaging environment, specifically Microsoft Exchange 2010.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

o       Maintain Exchange Messaging systems. 

o       Develop long-term strategies, manage capacity, performance, and recommend improvements to messagingsystems.

o       Setup, maintain, and configure mobile messaging enterprise services.

o       Ensure optimum access to 24x7 messaging environment and integration among messaging systems.

o       Work closely with Helpdesk support staff and Unified Communications Architect to solve system problems.

o       Evaluate and recommends hardware and software solutions based on the business requirements and user needs.

o       Strong background and experience working with Microsoft Active Directory.

Additional Duties and Responsibilities

o       Remain current on new products, services, protocols, and preform patch management of email and communication systems, including Microsoft Unified Communications systems.

o       Create and maintain SLAs for all organizational email and messaging applications.

o       Develop disaster recovery plans to detect faults, Conduct testing to minimize malfunctions, and backup systems.

o       Provide end user education on communication tools.

o        Basic understanding of networking technology including the various supporting services and protocols (DNS, LDAP, NTLM, Kerberos, SSL)

o        Provide backup assistance to Microsoft Lync Administrator.

o       Other duties as assigned by manager.

o       Administrate SPAM systems to insure proper filtering of messages. 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

o       Associates degree in IT or related field, or 3-5 years equivalent work experience.

o        Strong background and experience of Server 2008 R2, Microsoft Exchange 2007, 2010.

o       Outstanding problem solving ability and capability to deal with stress and tight schedules.

o       Working knowledge of Exchange roles such as UM, HUB, CAS, and MBX.

o       Excellent organizational, written and verbal communication and customer service skills.

o       Experience with Enterprise Fax systems (Esker Fax preferred)

o        Ability to set priorities and multi-task issues.

o        Is resourceful and proactive in gathering information and sharing ideas.
