Primary Objective of Position:
Plan and direct the overall engineering activities of Aeration Industries International. Coordinate the creation, development, design and improvement of the Company's products in performance, with established programs and objectives. Provide engineering expertise to other departments as required
Major Areas of Accountability:
- Responsible for all current design improvements and the exploration of new designs that meet the Company's objectives
- Troubleshoot problems as they arise, interfacing with production, assembly, installers and the sales department
- Plan regular meetings with production, quality control, sales, installers, and customer relations for further product design and improvement
- Establish procedure for ongoing engineering change orders, working with coordinating ECO's with drafting and implementing changes to manuals
- Responsible for the continuing research and development of the company's products and ensures sound technical engineering concepts are applied
- Establish written form for testing procedures and document for continuity in records
- Establish preventative checks of equipment throughout the production process
- Establish and maintain an orderly workplace at the company's research facility and engineering department
- Explore and establish a failure-proof design method of installing equipment
- so the end-user can install without errors
- Maintain continuous screening of incoming materials with rejection notices made known to purchasing, production and vendors
- Establish a method for determining defects by pinpointing engineering, production, assembly or design procedures and establishing a method for quick resolutions
- Establish ongoing updating of the company's installation and assembly manuals
- Responsible for the continued good product quality through continuous inspection of all component parts, and through constant interfacing with other departments and processes
- Identify and correct potential problem areas and establish a report format to sales, production and assembly personnel
- Provide engineering services to other departments as required
Qualifications:
- BS degree or graduate degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
- 12+ years engineering experience in a manufacturing R & D environment with 8+ years engineering management experience
- Must be an excellent communicator and be able to deal with all levels of management, and vendors as needed
