Description
The Dental Assistant provides assistance to dental staff in any services rendered to patients. This includes assisting with chair-side, laboratory, oral surgery and x-ray procedures, as well as other assigned duties. Performs delegated dental functions under the direction of a licensed dentist in the delivery of care for all assigned patient populations, in accordance with all policy, procedure and practice guidelines. Supports dentists in the delivery of patient care services. Prepares examining areas and patients for examination by physician. Records patient’s medical history and other relevant data. Assists dentists with patient examinations and minor surgical procedures. Schedules or performs clinics procedures as dentist directs. May perform dental records and business-related tasks. Supports patient focused care.
In order to qualify for this role, you must possess:

Graduation from an accredited dental assistant course, including current registration as a dental assistant in the state of Minnesota.

Experience in a hospital based dental office or clinic for one or more years.

Experience assisting dentists during oral surgery.

Procedure scheduling experience.

Experience using EagleSoft clinic management software or similar clinic management software.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Must be a self-motived problem solver with committment to learning new skills.
