Youth & Families in Transition Advocate
Anoka-Hennepin School District is seeking candidates for a FT advocate to work with the Homeless Youth & Families Liaison to identify and best meet the academic and basic needs of students and families experiencing homelessness and students in neglected or delinquent classified settings.
Requires minimum of two years of post-secondary education in related field; equivalent experience/training may be considered. Experience working directly with students and families at risk of or who are experiencing homelessness. Experience working with diverse populations. Experience working collaboratively with multiple partners and agencies. Knowledge of the McKinney Vento Homeless Assistance Act. Knowledge of community agencies who work to meet the basic needs of those in need. Knowledge of County support programs and program qualifications. Self starter who brings a creative approach to solving problems. Excellent communication skills, sound judgment and strong organizational skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office programs.
