HealthPartners is currently seeking to add a Project Manager within the Health Plan Operations Department. The Project Manager is responsible for performing key elements of the project management lifecycle. The person in this position will help organize, plan, track and implement projects. This position is also responsible for project documentation; status updates and assists with post implementation operational processes. He/she facilitates appropriate project communication channels and maintains excellent relationships with both internal and external business customers, stakeholders, IS & T, and external software vendors.
Accountabilities:
1. Serves as project manager/facilitator on assigned strategic and regulatory projects(s) working in conjunction with IS & T and the overall business project manager(s).
2. Responsible for project schedules and managing project completion within the expected timeframe.
3. Responsible for organizing and facilitating tasks of the assigned project.
4. Initiates and maintains RAIDQ log (Risks/Assumptions/Issues/Decisions/Questions).
5. Problem solve for items on the RAIDQ that may interfere with project deliverables and schedule.
6. Analyzes and responds to evolving program needs and customer expectations.
7. Participates in the coordination and facilitation of project related discussions with oversight of assigned tasks.
8. Facilitates cross-functional workgroups through the development of operating assumptions, business requirements, and current/future state business processes. Seeks and makes recommendations to project leadership regarding project, policy or process development needs.
9. Responsible for ensuring that required project documentation is developed and maintained within central project repository.
10. Establishes and maintains effective communication with team members, stakeholders, and other internal and external contacts. Provides consistent and timely updates to the Project Manager(s) on the assigned project.
11. Balances the diverse needs of various customers.
12. Responsible for coordinating multiple projects at any given time.
13. Participates with Regulatory Implementation to coordinate new law implementation including outreach to business stakeholders, maintaining the tracking log and providing quarterly updates to the Regulatory Implementation Steering Committee.
14. Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor degree in communications, business administration, computer science, health care management or related field and 3+ years of equivalent project management experience in implementation of complex health care related projects.
• Demonstrated 3 years of project management, consulting, and facilitation skills that resulted in successful project implementation for complex or multi-departmental projects.
• Ability to effectively communicate project status and issues to key project stakeholders to ensure successful project implementation.
• Ability to effectively communicate and work with multiple levels of the organization.
• Demonstrated organizational skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work with multiple customer demands.
• Demonstrated ability to work autonomously, with a great deal of self-initiative focused on achieving the goals of Health Plan Operations.
• Effective presentation, verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent problem solving ability.
• Demonstrated interpersonal and relationship building skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft suite of products.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Master’s degree in business administration
• Project Management Certification
• Previous health plan experience
