A position is available for a Technical Support Specialist in Dorsey & Whitney’s Minneapolis office in the Information Systems Group.

This position will provide technical support to users with questions, requests, or troubleshooting problems relating to computer software, desktop operating systems, hardware, related peripherals and IS policies.

Duties: Act as initial point of contact for users; provide technical support from central Technical Support Center (TSC) via phone instruction, e-mail, and desk-side assistance; log all support incidents and customer requests into the TSC tracking system on a timely basis; work with peers and supervisor to develop recommendations for streamlining procedures, standardizing hardware and software configurations, improve training and user communications, and otherwise reduce the volume and difficulty of support incidents; assist in implementing software and hardware projects, pilot tests, and rollouts; maintain department standards for attendance, coverage, customer service, and volume and effectiveness of problem resolution. May be requested to perform other duties not listed above.

Requirements: Two year college or technical degree; two years experience supporting Windows XP/Windows 7, and the Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook, among other standard business office software applications; excellent customer service skills; excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to solve problems, learn quickly, manage tasks, and balance priorities; ability to work in a high stress environment; ability to build effective relationships with team members at all levels in the organization; willingness to work nights, weekends, and travel, if necessary.

Desired: Two years experience in law firm or other professional service organization; experience with support of standard applications used in the practice of law such as Thomson Elite; Carpe Diem; and Lexus /Nexus.
