Under direction, provides leadership to an assigned shift in a manner that will result in high quality experiences for park guests and is consistent with The Park District’s policies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Performs on-site leadership functions in the daily operation of an assigned shift or ski/snowboard instruction program, with emphasis on a strong on-site presence during peak use times, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Provides work direction to temporary employees, volunteers and ski school instructors, and assists Supervisor in training of temporary employees and volunteers, as assigned.
Performs all tasks normally associated with the position of ski instructor.
When directed, helps develop and implement instruction curriculum in accordance with recognized and established standards.
Assures revenue handling procedures related to ski area operations are appropriately implemented and reports issues to Supervisor with recommendations for resolution.Assists with facilitation of outdoor recreation and education programs, as assigned.
At least two seasons (one year) of experience in leadership, or supervision of others, or any equivalent combination of education and/or experience. Current PSIA/AASI Certification at Level 1 minimum preferred. Previous experience with the Hyland SnowSports Academy or similar organization preferred.

Applications will be evaluated on the basis of relevant experience and training. The top group of applicants will be invited to participate in further job screening.Final appointment is contingent upon the applicant passing a background investigation including a criminal history search. Costs of the background will be paid for by Three Rivers Park District.
