The Application Developer is responsible for analyzing website development requirements and procedures to improve existing website performance and develop enhancements. This position will work within an integrated development team to define process flow, implementation plans, development methods, and timelines; works with software team to develop assets in a quality-assured manner; writes code for websites (CSS, queries, stored procedures, etc) and tests programs; assists in the production of interactive books, games, and content; adheres to methods, structures, designs, code and scripts that are compatible with existing sites; and writes and maintains complete documentation of process flow, user requirements, program design, and user instructions.

The successful candidate must have a 4-year degree in information technology, business, or related field; in addition to at least 2 years of programming experience. We are seeking someone with expertise in HTML and CSS for front end user experience development; experience in image processing, video-editing, and audio-editing; strong knowledge of JavaScript, XML, and PHP, and willingness to learn new web technologies.  It is highly desirable to be familiar with mySQL, database design and relationships, application profilers and optimization techniques; and ability to recognize process inefficiencies and recommend improvements. We are looking for someone that is an analytical and creative thinker who demonstrates the ability to prioritize conflicting demands and who can manage assigned project tasks within an established schedule. This person will also be a creative problem-solver who can communicate effectively with all members of the team and has a desire to thrive, learn, and grow in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment.
