Nebraska Public Power District has an immediate opening for a Full-time Project Manager located at Gerald Gentleman Station in Sutherland, Nebraska.
This position is responsible for managing corporate-level projects for NPPD. The preference for this position is to possess a strong background in engineering/project management at coal-fired power plants and as such candidates will be reviewed with this preference in mind.
This position will be located at the Gerald Gentleman Station Power Plant located five miles south of Sutherland, Nebraska. The incumbent will be required to attend PMO Orientation Training for the first several weeks of employment at NPPD’s headquarters in Columbus, Nebraska.
Education and Training:
BA or BS Degree (preferably in a technical field) and a minimum of fifteen (15) years in engineering/project management experience at coal-fired power plants.
Licenses and/or Certifications Required:
The incumbent is required to obtain Project Management Professional (PMP) certification through the Project Management Institute (PMI) within one year of position acceptance.
Pre-requisite requirements for PMP Certification:
BA/BS degree; 4,500 hours of qualified* project management experience, and 36 months of qualified* project management experience, and 35 hours of project management education
Or High School Diploma: 7,500 hours of qualified* project management experience, and 60 months of qualified* project management experience, and 35 hours of project management education
* Qualified experience includes project responsibilities in the following area:
· Initiating Processes
· Planning Processes
· Executing Processes
· Controlling Processes
· Closing Processes
A Professional Engineer’s License is preferred.
Prior Related Experience:
Experience must be engineering, operations, work control, maintenance, or related functions at an electric utility coal–fired generation station(s).
