Top Career Solutions has teamed with a leading manufacturer in Lakeville to hire a Sr. Buyer. This person will be responsible for procurement of goods, services, and capital equipment. Relationships and negotiations with suppliers is key to this role. This is a direct hire opportunity, with standard.
Duties:
- Select suppliers to meet all requirements at the most strategic price
- Negotiate price and cost reductions with vendors and suppliers
- Work with supplier warranty, debit, and credits
- Resolve any descrepancies in invoices
- Draft various supply agreements with vendors
- Maintain compliance with government regulations
- Monitor supply impacts and industry trends to make recommendations on
- Ensure purchased items meet delivery schedules and expedite if necessary
- Train less experienced buyers and mentor others in department
Requirements:
· Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field
· 7+ years experience as Buyer in Manufacturing setting
· APICS or CPIM certification preferred
· MRP experience and strong MS Office is preferred
· Experience with leading contract negotiations with suppliers/vendors
· Process improvement background is a plus
