Special Procedure Tech

Provides services to patients and physicians though the creation of diagnostic images appropriate to the age of the patients. Responsible for meeting the established standards of practice and patient care, supplies and equipment and coordinating work with all members of the health care team. Technologists working in vascular-interventional radiography assist interventional cardiologists with diagnostic angiographic procedures, complex vascular interventional procedures, and therapeutic procedures. Vascular-interventional technologists must have technical, radiologic, and clinical skills. 


Qualifications
Graduate from an accredited school of radiology, current registration with ARRT. Must maintain compliance with continuing education requirements set forth by the ARRT.

Must be certified as a Rad Tech with ARRT within 90 calendar days of employment.

1-2 year of previous Tech employment experience in an interventional cath lab setting required.
