Responsibilities:
1. Gather and analyze data used to determine machine or process capabilities
2. Develop and document processes for inspecting machined components (gears/shafts)
3. Analyze inspection processes to determine accuracy and repeatability of inspection processes
4. Devises sampling procedures as well as designing and developing forms and instructions for recording, evaluating, and reporting quality and reliability data
5. Identify, contain, and dispositions discrepant material
6. Determine alternate machining processes as a way to rework discrepant material
7. Assisting individuals within the quality/manufacturing departments in proper inspection techniques used for inspecting machined components (gears/shafts)
8. Analyze inspection results to determine part quality/functionality throughout various machining operations and in relation to a known, customer-supplied print.
9. Initiate and assist in the implementation of process improvements designed to improve productivity and quality
10. Complies and writes training material and conducts training sessions on quality control activities
11.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
--Advanced reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required. This is normally acquired through a high school diploma or equivalent, 2 or 4-year degree program
--Have a strong background in machining and the inspection of machined components
--Computer literate with the ability to learn, and work statistical software applications. Duties require professional verbal and written communication skills and the ability to type 30 wpm
--AS400, Microsoft Office Professional, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, Outlook, statistical software a plus
