NST - Pediatrics

The NST is responsible for assisting Registered Nurses and Licensed Practical Nurses in the delivery of care to the patients and also performs a wide range of clerical transcription, and coordinates the flow of communication on a patient care unit. The NST works under the direction of a Registered Nurse, assumes delegated responsibilities as appropriate, and adheres to all relevant policies, procedures and practice guidelines. 

Casual position to fill in for vacations and ill calls 

Previous Health Unit Coordinator (HUC), Nursing Assistant (NA) or Nursing Station Technician (NST) experience or completed technical college or internal Fairview HUC program, or equivalent and related experience.

Knowledge of medical terminology, abbreviations, and hospital procedures is required. Communication skills such as clear speech, ability to read, legible handwriting, and basic computer skills. 

Current nursing assistant work experience required or completed a clinical in a nursing program.
