Basin Electric is a regional wholesale electric generation and transmission cooperative serving 134 member systems. These member systems provide power and services to more than 2.8 million consumers in nine states. Basin Electric has openings for a Load Forecasting Analyst, Short-Term Trader and a Scheduler in Bismarck, ND.
LOAD FORECASTING ANALYST
Requirements for this position include:
• in-depth understanding and comprehensive knowledge of electrical power supply industry through the completion of a four-year degree program in business, engineering, economics or math and five years of relevant experience in power marketing, cooperative planning, forecasting, position management or transmission service arrangements
• should have an understanding of the MISO market
• this position requires excellent oral and written communications and supervisory skills
SHORT-TERM TRADER
Requirements for this position include:
• four-year degree in Business Administration, Economics or Engineering and five years of business experience, of which must be in trading or marketing power and natural gas
• knowledge of business practices and procedures and a technical knowledge in a wide range of business functions
• master's degree is preferred
• an understanding of power generation, transmission systems, control area operations, marketing pools, natural gas markets, pipeline scheduling and management, natural gas storage, economic principles and econometric methods

• a thorough knowledge of business practices and procedures and a technical knowledge in a wide range of business functions
• four-year degree in Business Administration, Economics or Engineering and three years of relevant business experience which must be in support of trading or marketing power
• understanding of power generation, transmission systems, control area operations and marketing pools
SCHEDULER
Requirements for this position include:
● a thorough knowledge of business practices and procedures and a technical knowledge in a wide range of business functions
● four-year degree in Business Administration, Economics or Engineering and three years of relevant business experience which must be in support of trading or marketing power
● understanding of power generation, transmission systems, control area operations and marketing pools
