Owatonna Hospital, located in Owatonna, Minn., approximately 60 miles south of Minneapolis, provides a full range of inpatient and outpatient services to approximately 35,000 inpatients and outpatients annually. It has 340 employees and 36 staffed beds. More than 52 active Owatonna Clinic-Mayo Health System physicians and consulting physician specialists work hand-in-hand with hospital-based physicians to provide a continuity of compassionate care for all patients.
Responsibilities
Register patients, verify patient demographics and insurance, and collect documentation and co-pays.
Qualifications
Education/Experience:
- Minimum of an Associates Degree, Bachelors preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology and basic mathematics
- Minimum of 2 years direct customer service/public access position experience, preferred in a healthcare organization
- Must have Windows based computer experience
Skills:
- Keyboarding
- Ability to utilize web pages and do data entry
- Demonstrated excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Demonstrated excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills
