At the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA), you can make a difference. The BCA is a division of the Minnesota Department of Public Safety and is committed to protecting Minnesotans by providing high quality services to the criminal justice community. The BCA’s Minnesota Justice Information Services (MNJIS) section serves Minnesota’s 1,100 criminal justice agencies, along with agencies throughout the United States, by collecting, managing and delivering statewide criminal justice information to its customers and coordinating Minnesota’s effort to integrate statewide criminal justice information.
BCA MNJIS is seeking a Systems Architect to lead the technical design, development, implementation, integration and production support of large, complex middleware systems and applications to support statewide integrated criminal justice systems and services.
A Bachelor’s Degree in IT, IS or closely related field and five years of professional IT experience in a middleware environment
6 years of experience and formal training in a middleware environment.
Professional experience must include:
- 4 years experience with information technology capabilities including: heterogeneous application technologies, application/middleware/database architectures, SOA and component modeling.
- 4 years experience with J2EE application servers (Weblogic, TomCat, Jboss) in a highly available, (clustered) large scale heterogeneous environment.
- 5 years experience with multiple clustered operating systems and network technologies including Unix (Solaris), Linux, Microsoft Windows Server and LDAP, Active Directory and TCP/IP.
Bachelor’s or advanced degree in IT, IS or closely related field.
8 years of professional IT experience working in a middleware environment.
Five or more years of experience with security infrastructure components including identity (Provisioning), LDAP and access management, single sign-on (SSO) technology, Security Assertion Markup Language (SAML), role-base authorization, risk-based authentication and web access security
Advanced knowledge of information technology capabilities including: heterogeneous application technologies, application/middleware/database architectures, SOA and component modeling
Five or more years of experience with server administration, Unix (Solaris), Linux, Microsoft Windows Server, including virtualization and clustering
Microsoft MCSE and Linux/Solaris Systems Administration certification
