Our client in the Ramsey area is looking for an Electrical Design Engineer to join their team! This is a great opportunity with a manufacturing company that is currently leading in their field! They are looking for someone to research, design, develop and select components for electromechanical and electronic control systems.
Duties:
· Design electrical control systems to meet requirements of quality, cost effectiveness, and energy efficiency
· Generate and modify electrical schematics and panel layouts
· Develop instructions for the installation of control systems
· Design equipment and specify the components of products and systems used
· Research and analyze data, such as design proposals to determine feasibility of design
· Communicate with sales organization or directly with customers regarding product and system designs, performances, and specifications
· Write proposals and proposal change orders that specify the overall design of the products and systems
· Coordinate manufacturing activities to ensure products and systems conform to engineering design and customer specifications
· Evaluate equipment during manufacturing and recommend design modifications as needed
· Plan and direct personnel in development of methods and procedures for testing products and systems
· Perform cost analysis of projects and implement cost reduction strategies
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or similar degree or an Associates degree in Electrical Engineering Technology with strong experience
· 5 years experience in electrical control panel design with field experience throughout the product life cycle
· Knowledge of National Electric Code (NEC) and UL, as well as best practices for control panel design is required
· Experience with digital design, panel layout, schematic design, ladder logic programming, system testing, and troubleshooting
· Understanding of electrical power distribution principles and design
· Knowledge of the application and implementation of VFD’s for motor control
· Experience in Electrical AutoCAD, CADD, and ERP
· Strong understanding of electro-mechanical knowledge
