Under the direction of the Manager of the Infection Prevention Program, the Infection Preventionist is responsible for: on-going surveillance, data analysis and interpretation; reporting of healthcare associated infections; policy development; regulatory compliance; investigation of infections when rates exceed expected levels and implementation of outbreak interventions; works collaboratively with multi disciplinary teams as needed to develop, implement and assess risk-reduction plans for preventing healthcare associated infections.
Education / Experience:
- Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's degree in nursing, medical technology, clinical laboratory science, public health or other health-related field.
- 3-5 years experience in acute care setting.
- Infection Prevention experience preferred but not required.
- Interpersonal relationship, problem solving, verbal, written and computer skills are high priorities.
- Knowledge of micro-organism, blood pathogen, infection transmission, epidemiology, infection prevention statistics, regulatory / accreditation standards, data analysis, human factors engineering, process improvement and leadership are important components of this position.
- Experience with datamining system helpful.
License Required: Current MN RN license or certification / registration in relevant field; Certification in Infection Control (CIC) preferred.

- Full time (40 hours per week)
- Day shift; Monday - Friday
