Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Promote Social Security Disability services through marketing materials, community presentations and trainings
  • Process Social Security intake requests, make follow-up phone calls
  • Meticulously maintain Social Security Disability case files
  • Perform research and writing for Social Security cases
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Legal Services Manager

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent legal service professional experience
  • Paralegal certificate and/or at least one year prior experience as paralegal
  • Experience with Social Security Disability
  • Experience in public speaking, presentations, and training
  • Demonstrated experience in file preparation and document management
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability
  • Excellent telephone manner and strong interpersonal skills, both written and verbal
  • High level of motivation with attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Experience or knowledge regarding working with persons from diverse groups
  • Experience working successfully as part of a team
  • Experience with HIV or HIV services
