Job Description:

This Per Diem Chaplain will provide chaplaincy care coverage for Regions and Gillette hospitals on an on-call, off-premise basis. Duties will include providing hospitality and support to: family members of critical trauma patients in the Emergency Department, dying patients and their family members, patients and their families for whom the Palliative Care Team has been consulted, Intensive Care Unit patients and families, and patients and families who have requested chaplaincy support. The per-diem chaplain will respond to pages and requests from patients, families and hospital staff. A 30-minute response time is required when covering on-call. Per-diem chaplains living outside of the 30-minute response range will be expected to remain within a 30-minute geographical distance while on-call during the daytime shifts and will be required to utilize the on-call sleep room for overnight shifts.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree. At least two (2) years of graduate theological education (48 semester hours, 72 quarter hours of credit) at a school accredited by the Association of Theological Schools, with preference for completed Masters of Divinity degree.
At least one unit of Clinical Pastoral Education (provided by an ACPE or NACC accredited center) with preference at a trauma center.

Chaplaincy experience in acute care medical setting, with preference for experience in a trauma center.

Endorsement for chaplaincy from a recognized faith group of the Association of Professional Chaplains.
