Position Summary

The Information Technology Manager plans and directs the development of the department. Assigns, directs and coordinates the work of department staff. Provides technical direction and assistance as required. Prepares feasibility studies and time and cost estimates for new or revised systems/programs. Interfaces with other IT and business functions in the organization to coordinate activities and report progress toward goals and objectives. The manager level functions are tactical in nature. This level is responsible for allocating and controlling the resources necessary to accomplish objectives that support the department's strategic goals. Planning occurs; authority is delegated to the supervisory level; and performance is measured. Managers have typically had experience in multiple functional areas within IT. They understand how the business operates and its priorities. This position is responsible for functions that serve one or more PNHS departments. Provides regular guidance, evaluation, coaching and makes recommendations on raises/dismissals. Project work involves customer and other IT teams such as network, server, and development. Overseeing numerous projects at once. A Bachelor's degree in an applicable field or equivalent, plus 5+ years of experience required. Health care and project experience are preferred.

Additional Information

The role involves managing the IT group that supports the Financial and Human Resource functions, Supply Chain / Material management for Park Nicollet Health Services. Typical projects include ongoing maintenance and upgrades, interfaces with peripheral applications, and new software selection and implementation. Planning and collaboration with our business customers is a big part of this role. This position is expected to build strong working relationships both within IT and the business.
