The Health Unit Coordinator will be responsible for assisting nursing personnel in maintaining accurate resident records according to State and Federal guidelines. The position involves maintaining confidentiality of all resident information and providing excellent customer service skills.

Duties

Major job functions include maintaining accurate medical records, preparing medical record for physician visits and facility transfers, transcribing physician orders, preparing files for admissions and discharges, maintaining resident schedule for ancillary services, and providing excellent customer service by giving direction to residents, visitors, and staff, directing phone calls, sorting and delivering mail, etc.

Qualifications

To be considered for this position you must be a graduate of an approved technical college Health Unit Coordinator course or an LPN with current MN licensure. A copy of your Health Unit Coordinator certificate is required if called in for an interview. The successful candidate must be dependable, organized, able to multi-task and provide excellent customer service skills. Position requires ability to adhere to detailed instruction, knowledge of computers, good typing and proofreading skills. This is a full time position working from 9:00a-5:30p including every other weekend from 10:00a-2:00p. This is a total of 80 hours per pay period.
