Medical Technologist or Medical Lab Technician

Hours: Day or Afternoon Shifts
Main responsibilities: Processing and assay of laboratory specimens in hematology, blood bank, urinanalysis, chemistry, blood gas, coagulation and microbiology. Patient and hospital staff interactions require a personality that is positive and able to work well under stress with varied staff and patients. Ability to perform clinical laboratory procedures without close supervision is also necessary. Must be able to ensure compliance with patient care quality standards as they relate to the care provided to all age groups of patients ranging from newborn to elderly. Maintains perfomance improvement activities within the department and participates in hospital wide performance improvement activities.
Qualifications include: Graduate of a 4 year Medical Technologist program or graduate of a 2 year Medical Laboratory Technical program. Minimum of one years of experience in a hospital clinical laboratory is preferred.
