Job Description / Summary of position:

The Production Supervisor position is specifically responsible for coordinating, directing, and supervising 25-35 direct report production employees.
Under the direction of the Production Manager, the Production Supervisor is responsible for directing all activities on 2nd shift to ensure smooth production and operations. The Production Supervisor works with fellow machine shop supervisors as a team to maintain work flow and consistency in policies and procedures from shift to shift. The Production Supervisor works with all Manufacturing departments including, Manufacturing Engineering, Production Control, Tool Room, and Quality, to solve problems and ensure availability of materials. Production Supervisors main focus is on safety, quality, delivery, and productivity.

Job Requirements / Qualifications:
A minimum of five (5) years' experience in light industry assembly/machining required. The position requires Supervisory experience, good communications skills, and a good mechanical aptitude.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
· Associates degree in business management or related field (preferred)
· A minimum of (5) years of related technical experience
· A minimum of (3) years of production supervisory experience
· Work experience in supervising and coordinates activities of workers engaged in production machining of metallic or non-metallic work pieces, applying knowledge of machine shop procedures, machine tool setup and operating techniques, and production machining methods.
· Possess the ability to read and write in CNC language (preferred)
· General knowledge of machining practices and processes.
· Basic computer skills in the following:
· Microsoft Word
· Microsoft Excel
· Microsoft Outlook
· Microsoft PowerPoint
· AutoCAD / Solid Works or similar programs
· Possesses the ability to read process prints / blue prints
· Basic understanding of all Geometric Dimension and Tolerance Symbols used in machining and manufacturing.
· Experience in using and understanding of: Lean Manufacturing, SPC, Six Sigma, Kaizen, 5S and Root Cause Analysis
