Plan and deliver wound, ostomy, or continence services to patients using the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, evaluation and teaching. Serve as a consultant to staff on wound, ostomy or continence services.
Qualifications
Minimum Education
Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing and Graduation from Accredited WOC Nursing Program.
Minimum License/Certification/Registration
Licensed as a RN and eligible to practice in Minnesota
Certified Wound, Ostomy, Continence Nurse (CWOCN) or Certified Wound Ostomy Nurse (CWON), or the ability to become certified within 1 year.
Current CPR certification - BLS for Health Care Providers
Preferred License/Certification/Registration
Public Health Nurse certification
Minimum Experience
One year recent RN experience in acute care, home care, hospice or long term care.
Completion of WOC Nursing Internship as part of WOC Nursing Program.
Ability to function in job role independently.
Preferred Experience
Two or more years RN experience.
RN experience in med/surg, critical care, oncology or high tech home care/ hospice. WOCN clinical experience preferred
Additional Requirements
Valid Minnesota drivers license (or license that matches your current permanent residence), current and adequate automobile insurance policy
Reliable transportation
Basic computer skills
Interest and ability to lecture and provide staff education related to WOC nursing
