The  YMCA of the Greater Twin Cities Camp Icaghowan is currently seeking a dynamic Senior Camp Program Coordinator to join our team!

The Senior Camp Program Coordinator will be responsible for all aspects of the camp. The incumbent assists with the development of quality programs in all camp areas and provides supervision and guidance to camp staff to ensure that all specific duties are carried out successfully. The incumbent is also responsible for various administrative tasks, which may include ordering supplies, coordinating schedules, and completing all necessary reports.  

Essential Functions

  • Work directly with the Camp Director in overseeing the daily activities, general camp operations and programs to ensure a quality camp
  • Develop programming, help hire and handle staffing, and work with all concerns in a timely fashion
  • Work with special events, promotions, and any other special needs as they arise
  • Ensure that all program area schedules are completed in a timely manner
  • Ensure the maintenance of accurate program and administrative records
  • Ensure that the site is kept clean, organized and free of litter
  • Provide work direction to the camp staff and play a role in the training and hiring of staff. Address personnel concerns as necessary. Consult the Camp Director when needed and keep the Camp Director informed
  • Be responsible for knowing, understanding, training, and executing all camp policies and emergency procedures associated with the camp
  • Take part in mid-summer and post-summer evaluations with the Camp Director
  • Interact effectively with the camp staff as a total system, with campers’ best interest in mind
  • Be a leader in parent communication and address parent concerns in a timely manner. Seek the help of the Camp Director when necessary
  • Assist with the various administrative tasks necessary for camp to run efficiently

Minimum Requirements

Qualifications - Required

  • Minimum of two years of camp experience or related experience
  • Relevant previous experience in supervisory and administration of camp or youth programs
  • Relevant previous experience working with parents and children.
  • Current Standard First-Aid and CPR certifications. (Training available upon hire.)
  • Self-motivated to give direction, perform duties, and develop new program ideas
  • Must be organized, self-directed, and creative
  • Must have an excellent knowledge of policies, procedures, activities, programs, and children as they relate to camping
  • Must have strong interpersonal communication skills

Qualifications - Preferred


  • BA/BS degree

Physical Demand


  • Must be able to work on a computer for extended periods of time
