Allina Commons is the Minneapolis-based headquarters of Allina Health, a not-for-profit health care organization serving patients and communities. Approximately 1,600 corporate and administrative service employees work at offices within Midtown Exchange, site of the historic Sears retail complex at Chicago Avenue and E. Lake Street. This community landmark, adjacent to the campus of Allina's Abbott Northwestern Hospital, is the second largest building in Minnesota and includes offices, an internationally themed public market and residential units.


  • Plan, organize, conduct and coordinate compliance reviews as outlined in the annual compliance/audit plan and management requests/special investigations as needed
  • These projects include the review of coding, billing and medical record documentation to assess accuracy, completeness and identify process improvements




  • Associate or Bachelors Degree in healthcare related field preferred (ex: nursing, Health Information Management) or equivalent experience
  • One or more of the following: RN, RHIT, RHIA, CPC, CCS, CCS-P
  • 5 years experience in one of the following areas; Profee coding highly preferred, medical business (chargemaster or government billing experience), direct patient care, hospital or ambulatory coding, or 3 years experience with medical services auditing
  • Main focus of the position at this time is around the profee side of coding


  • Knowledge of ICD-9, CPT (including evaluation and management), HCPCS, DRG, Revenue codes
  • Ability to understand complex billing regulations and apply them to billing situations
  • Extensive problem solving skills (self directed with excellent prioritization skills)
  • Leadership skills
  • Detail oriented and organized
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including public speaking
  • Computer skills include: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Access)
  • Negotiation and conflict resolution skills
  • Knowledge and understanding of clinic and hospital operations
  • Ability to work on a team


Pay,Benefits, & Work Schedule

  • Full-time: 40 hours per week
  • Day shift: Monday -  Friday
  • No weekends
  • Non-Contract
