Job Description:
This is an intermediate level quality inspection position. The Mechanical Inspector will inspect and test manufactured products for conformance to specifications such as dimensions, tolerances, workmanship standards and other purchase order requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Inspect and test all manufactured products for conformance to specifications such as dimensions, tolerances, and other purchase order requirements
  • Provide quality assurance support within the organization as experience and time allow
  • Evaluate and complete special customer quality assurance requirements (ie. first article inspection, SPC charts and data and other customer paperwork)
  • Able to use all IMTE (inspection, measurement, test equipment) equipment in final inspection area
  • Apply GD&T to interpret results of measurements
  • Expected to come up with ideas to improve operations in the area for CI
  • Interpret data
  • Learn and adhere to all necessary company work instructions Assist Quality Engineers, Quality Technicians and other departments with inspection requirements as needed
  • Generate NCRs
  • Move product between departments in the ERP system
  • Able to apply problem solving skills to correct inspection-related issues
  • Works with minimal supervision on inspection-related tasks
  • Comply with work rules including safety, health, quality system and
  • Accellent Quality Management Systems

Required Experience:
  • Minimum 2 years of quality assurance experience or machine operations experience with inspection exposure in a manufacturing environment required
  • Thorough understanding of GD&T, blue print reading, inspection equipment and sampling plans
  • Basic machine shop math. (ie. fractions to decimals and metric conversion)
  • Understanding of specification requirements in relationship to the gage used and the part tolerance
  • Effectively communicate with all levels of employees, as well as outside contractors
  • Able to use the computer, specifically spreadsheets and data entry
  • Vision system operation and/or programming preferred
  • Medical device experience preferred
