This position is responsible and accountable for all functions of the Instrument Room, under the guidance of the Instrument Room Unit Manager. More specifically this position will be responsible for the following duties: 1.Decontaminate and process all instruments used for surgical procedures, 2.Decontaminate and terminally sterilize all instruments 3.Reset all instrument sets after terminal sterilization, 4.Utilizing and understanding the MMM computer system for tracking instruments, 5.Sort, put away and check terminally sterilized instruments for defects, 6.Lubricate instruments with movable parts after cleaning, according to directions, 7.Wrap trays and instrument sets when complete with all instrumentation, while maintain accurate record of items being sterilized, 8.Transport basins, trays and other items to be sterilized to Central Service at appropriate times. Return items to OR as necessary, and other duties as assigned. High school graduate 6 Months Instrumentation Processing Experience required &/or graduate of an Accredited Sterile Processing Program; or OR Surgical Technologist experience or training
Sterile Processing Certification preferred or must be certified within 6 months of hire.
