Job Summary: Manage the day-to-day IT infrastructure operations including telecommunications, network administration, server administration, backup/restore, policies and procedures. Direct all activities related to these functions and manage assigned staff. Ensure continuity of IT services throughout the organization through planning, technical leadership and project coordination. Strong project management skills are required as well as team building.
Accountabilities Include:
• Provides technical guidance concerning the business implications of the various systems within IT, including Local and/or Wide area networks, IT security, internet, and telecommunications
• Assures quality service within the IT Department and sufficient staffing throughout each business day. Responsibility includes timely performance appraisals & salary plan administration for all assigned staff.
• Evaluates hardware and software infrastructure solutions for present and future needs of the organization and recommends necessary changes or new technologies.
• Plans, develops and directs the installation of current and future network systems based on the organization's long-term strategic network needs.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
• Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or computer science, M.S. strongly preferred. Alternately, two years of directly related work experience may be substituted for each year of education.
• Ten (10) or more years experience in an information systems environment, including five (5) years managing the systems administration functions; manufacturing exposure preferred.
• Three (3) to five (5) years experience in supervising, training and/or leading technical staff members.
• Strong leadership skills.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
