Position Summary:

The Payroll Supervisor oversees a staff of payroll system leads responsible for system set-up, testing and customer service related to system issues. The systems area is responsible for support of Infinium Payroll system in the US, Canada and United Kingdom. The Payroll Systems Supervisor reports to the Payroll Systems Manager who evaluates performance based on the level of customer service, project management and the quality of work environment for the employees. Work involves reviewing data integrity, communicating with IT staff and payroll management, training and overseeing staff, answering questions and resolving problems, coordinating special projects related to systems, continuous review of processes and procedures looking for ways to improve.


  • Resolves inquiries and complaints from payroll and other corporate departments in a timely manner
  • Coordinate projects with IT staff and ensures completion within company business practices
  • Supervises, evaluates work performance, trains and plans the work assignments for assigned staff
  • Enforces established payroll related policies, procedures and regulations and considers additional policies as required
  • Works closely with other payroll supervisors and department staff
  • Performs research and prepares reports, most of which have compliance deadlines
  • Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service
  • Involved in all areas of payroll department
  • Assist with system set up and system testing


  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field preferred
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) Certification preferred
  • Previous payroll supervision experience, three years or more preferred
  • Strong communication skills required, especially verbal and E-mail communication
  • Microsoft Tools and ability to use Word, Excel, or other database query tool required
  • Ability to understand and apply payroll rules and regulations
  • Ability to work cooperatively with other employees and customers
