The Eden Prairie School District is seeking teaching applicants for our Spanish Immersion program. This is a unique opportunity to be part of an exciting program to teach in a Spanish immersion setting. At Eagle Heights Spanish Immersion, we have adopted the phrase "Another Way to Learn". At our school, teachers and support staff are bilingual in Spanish and English, and are knowledgeable in language immersion philosophy and methodology. We are dedicated to using the strategies that research has proven to be most effective in achieving bilingualism, while also meeting state and national learning standards. - MN teaching license in elementary education or ability to obtain
- Additional MN teaching license in Spanish preferred (not required)
- Ability to meet the district’s standards for Spanish language proficiency-both written and oral
- Prior immersion classroom teaching experience preferred
Understanding of effective teaching and learning strategies for immersion learners
Demonstrate effective experience in collaboration and problem solving skills
Experience with curriculum and assessment design, implementation, and evaluations
Understanding the role of parent involvement in an immersion context and willingness to work innovatively with parents
Capacity to use technology as both a language and cultural instructional tool
Starting Salary: Teacher Salary Schedule
Start date: 2013-2014 School Year
