The basic functions of the Business Development, Lead Generation role are to help ensure the successful achievement of revenue and growth goals for the sales department by lead generation, cultivating and developing client relationships, and collaborating with practice area SVPs.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Must follow and meet Key Performance Expectations (KPEs) for this role.
Support SVP’s and EVP’s sales efforts in assigned practice areas by helping to develop and drive overall strategy, monitor key trends and create a plan for significant qualified leads.
Maintain contact with key influencers and decision-makers through calls, emails and overall ongoing check-ins with tier 2, 3 and 4 clients.
Attend selected conferences as needed, roughly 4-6 per year.
Assist in proposal information gathering, coordination and delivery, as requested.
Assist in aligning sales, marketing and market research efforts to deliver practice area revenue goals.
Coordinate market research efforts to support trend analysis, case monitoring and report development.
Learn and maintain in-depth knowledge of Rust Consulting services.
Self-educate on industry technologies and trends.
Develop and maintain knowledge of competitors.
Review quarterly individual sales plan to ensure objectives are being achieved.
Consistent and accurate tracking of progress within Salesforce.com (SFDC).
All other responsibilities as assigned.
MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in business, sales/marketing, or equivalent work experience.
Five plus years of experience in a professional services company.
Strong knowledge and experience using consultative selling techniques.
Experience cold calling and generating leads
Excellent written and oral communications skills.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Ability to organize and prioritize tasks and drive results.
Excellent time management skills.
Ability to build and maintain strong business relationships across all levels of the organization and externally.
Superior attention to detail.
Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.
Experience with and knowledge of Salesforce.com, Word and Excel.
