The Neurology Clinic provides a comprehensive array of services including diagnosis and treatment of all types of neurologic disorders.

A national leader in development and implementation of innovative neurologic services, our clinic subspecialties include stroke, epilepsy, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), muscular dystrophy and other neuromuscular diseases, multiple sclerosis (MS), ataxia, Parkinsons disease and other movement disorders, and headaches.

The Medical Assistant, Credentialed within the Neurology clinic performs delegated medical functions under the direction of a provider, authorized practitioner or RN in the delivery of care for all assigned patient populations in accordance with all policy, procedure and practice guidelines.

The Medical Assistant, Credentialed supports providers in the delivery of patient care services.  Prepares examining areas and patients for examination, procedure or treatment by provider or other authorized practitioner.  Obtains vital signs and records patient’s medical history and other relevant data.  Assists the provider with patient examinations, treatments and procedures.  Administers injections or assists with treatments/procedures under direction of authorized practitioner.   May perform administrative duties: schedules, coordinates and monitors patient appointments, admissions and/or procedures, organize/maintain medical records and performs business-related tasks such as procedural/diagnostic coding, prepares submittable insurance forms.  As a health care advocate, supports patient focused care and provides patient instruction.

To qualify for this role, you must possess:

  • Be a graduate of an accredited medical assistant program (AAMA or ABHES).  Certified as a medical assistant or able to obtain certification within one year of hire
  • Be a team player, flexible, organized, and possess excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent computer skills

 Preferred:

  • 1-2 years experience in an ambulatory care setting
