Overall responsibility: To manage the daily bookkeeping, as well as administration of the office.
Key Responsibilities/Work Ethic:
- Receives, approves, and, when necessary, investigates accounts payable invoices
- Creates, delivers, and deposits accounts receivables into bank accounts
- Handles payroll and administers employee benefits
- Handles investments
- Receives, reviews, and provides financial statements
- Assists accountants on tax return preparation
- Controlling correspondences
- Maintains office services by organizing office operations and procedures; designing filing systems; reviewing and approving supply requisitions
- Provides historical reference by defining procedures for retention, protection, retrieval, transfer, and disposal of records
- Keeps management informed by reviewing and analyzing special reports
- Ability to work concurrently projects, balance priorities, and pursue tasks with initiative
- Ability to ask questions when clarification is needed, but can also work on a “trial and error” basis
Minimum Qualification Requirements:
- 2 years bookkeeping experience with Quickbooks (Mac version preferred)
- 2 years experience processing payroll accounting transactions (Knowledge of regulatory requirements and payroll returns)
- 1 year experience working as office administrator
Preferred Qualifications:
- Degree or Minor in Business/Accounting or similar field
- Prior experience in Business Management preferred
- Prior experience in Accounting or as a Controller preferred
- Prior experience working on project capitalizations
- Marketing/Design experience would be a plus
