Academic Staff – MEP Instructional

Department of Operations and Management
Lecturer/Senior Lecturer; nine month academic year appointment; appointment date is August 26, 2013. Position is non-tenure-track; one-year contract with renewal intended, subject to funding and performance.
Master’s degree required. Demonstrated knowledge and ability to set-up and operate production and manufacturing equipment and processes, and manage various aspects of day-to-day operations environment. Candidate must exhibit the ability to teach at the post-secondary level. Preferred: production and manufacturing work experience; related supervisory or management work experience; business start-up or entrepreneurial experience in manufacturing environment.
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, teaching INMGT-314 Manufacturing Enterprise Practicum and other courses related to Operations and Management. Additional duties include management of manufacturing/production laboratory and supervising student laboratory assistants.
The Operations and Management Department is housed in the College of Management and primarily serves undergraduate majors in Management, Business, Manufacturing Engineering, Engineering Technology, Construction, Packaging, Graphic Communications Management, as well as graduate majors in Training and Human Resource Development, Risk Control, and Operations and Supply Management. The department currently has 35 full-time and part-time faculty/staff and offers in excess of 50 courses and 100 different sections.

Minimum academic year salary of $55,000. The UW System provides an excellent benefits package including participation in the Wisconsin State retirement plan.
