The PBP/Benefits Specialist will review applicable Plan Benefit Package (PBP) guidance from the Centers of Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) concerning the Medicare Advantage (MA) benefit filing process. Test and provide feedback on CMS software used in the MA benefit filing process. Work collaboratively across UCare functions, ensuring benefit payment set up represents benefits filed with CMS. Research and analysis in support of benefit filing alignment with benefit payment for Medicare business. Maintain SharePoint sites in support of research and analysis.
The position requires experience in health care or managed care. Medical claim knowledge is also desired. Bachelor’s degree in Business preferred. Candidates with related disciplines with demonstrated capability through previous experience will be considered in lieu of degree. Our ideal candidate will have knowledge of UCare operations.
The knowledge, skills, and abilities required to be successful in this role include:
- Microsoft Windows operating systems, including Microsoft Office.
- Strong Excel skills.
- Knowledge of Medicare Coverage Guidelines.
- Knowledge of medical insurance.
- Background in claim payment systems and processes and/or Medicare enrollment and processes are a plus.
- Strong problem solving, analytical, written and verbal communication skills.
- Self starter with ability to manage, plan and organize.
- Ability to see the big picture and how decisions impact entire organization.
- Ability to handle multiple duties simultaneously.
- Critical thinker.
