Job Description:
The clinical laboratory technician performs waived and moderate testing as defined by CLIA’ 88. Possesses working knowledge of the clinical laboratory and performs routine clinical laboratory analysis, recognizes problems, identifies basic causes, and makes corrections using established protocols. The CLT correlates data based on knowledge of technical and instrumental conditions affecting test results and performs quality control procedures within established parameters. The CLT collaborates with the customers of the laboratory to promote customer satisfaction. The CLT works independently under general supervision.


Physical demands: sitting, standing, walking, lifting 45 degrees, operate a motor vehicle.
Talking in person and over the phone with our customers. Hearing in person, on the phone, full hearing required. Vision near, far, field of vision, depth perception, accommodation, field of vision.
Physical Environment: noise heat/ cold, infectious disease, moving machinery, vibration, fumes/ gases, human tissue/ fluids, animal tissue/ fluids, radiation, wet/ humid environment, chemicals, biohazard material, work outside.
Mental demands: frequent people contact, irregular schedule, detailed work, frequent interruptions, decision making skills, concentration required, work independently, multi task, frequent deadlines, organizational skills, work with others.

 


Qualifications
Job Qualifications:
Graduate of a Medical Laboratory Technician program (2 yrs) is required. Associate of Arts degree in Clinical Laboratory Science is required. Should possess or be eligible for BOR or AMT certification (must obtain certification with in 1 year of becoming eligible). No experience necessary but experience is a plus. Good manual dexterity. Need ability to prioritize. Interpersonal skills are necessary to provide care and directions. Should be able to lift heavy objects, standing, walking, and bending for long periods of time. Willingness to work at others sites preferred.
